Smile – sunshine is good for your teeth.

Truth Behind My Smile

February 25, 2010

Facial Yoga and exercise is popular amongst celebrities and their facialists. Victoria Beckham sticks out her tongue and looks to the left twice a day and Gwyneth Paltrow does the same – although not in response to Victoria! This blog is about all things smile orientated and although smiling is a positive thing in my book/blogs, it is somewhat responsible for certain types of wrinkling, such as: crow’s feet and laughter lines…

Also, between you and I, I have a significant birthday on the horizon but before I embark on nips, tucks, pricks and expensive potions, here are some facial exercises I am doing once a day, when I have the flat to my self…

Exercise 1 – Under the eye
Wink but don’t wrinkle and hold for 2 seconds. It is advised that you lubricate under the eye because it’s the muscle you need to stretch, not the skin. Repeat 20 times.

Exercise 2 – Around the eye
Place your fingertips on your temples and pull back. This exercise prevents lines around the eyes (crow’s feet) from appearing. Resist the tension by trying to close your eyes. Repeat 20 times

Exercise 3 – Mouth
With both index fingers either side of your mouth pull in opposite directions until taught. Then, start pull the corners of your mouth towards each other in an attempt to purse your lips. Repeat 20 times

Exercise 4 – Lips
Suck on a finger whilst simultaneously trying to remove it. Repeat 20 times

Exercise 4 b – Lips
Cover your teeth entirely with your lips and make a small ‘O’ shape; keeping your lips as tense as possible smile. Repeat 20 times

Exercise 5 – Cheeks
Push your lips out and make a round shape, stretching forward, now smile as wide as possible – hold for a second and resume the round shape – repeat 20 times

So, smile to your hearts content but then work it off with the above
