I’ve read numerous articles this morning about plump lips emulating youthfulness. Full and voluptuous lips such as (yes, yes, you guessed it…) Angelina Jolie’s are key to appearing youthful.
Apparently, the research which was funded by Unilever, finds that plump lips will give the impression of youthfulness even if the hair has become lackluster and a bit grey and skin has wrinkled slightly, well of course, that’s basic math: 1 out of 3 is better than 0 out of 3. However, the research shows that unlike wrinkles, sun damage and age spots which are influenced by equal measures of environmental factors and inheritance, ‘lip height’ is a gene thing.
Surgery and botox are an effective way of pumping up your pout but I would take heed from poor Lesley Ash’s tale of woe before making any rash decisions. Speaking of rashes, there are plumping lip-glosses and treatments available on the shelf and over the counter which I personally never react very well to (think Pete Burns!) so I’m not going to recommend any. Alternatively, I suggest lining your lip with a shade slightly darker than your lippie and then applying a bit of gloss over your lips.
